When The Outlast Trials Takes Place

The Outlast Trials takes place in 1959, during the Cold War. You play the role of a down-and-out homeless individual who is scooped up off the street to take part in various Trials and experiments. You are a Reagent. The Murkoff Corporation, known for its shady practices, is your abductor.

Where The Outlast Trials Takes Place

As for where the game takes place, it’s primarily set in the Murkoff Corporation’s facility. You’ll spend time in The Sleep Room, where you can interact with other Reagents, play chess or arm wrestling, and customize your character and your cell to your heart’s content with the credits earned during Trials.

But when out on the Trials themselves, take a look around. These are life-size sets designed by Murkoff to simulate the real world. You’ll stumble into a police station, prison, orphanage, toy factory, and funhouse, to name but a few of the horrific locations in the game.
