I always find myself coming back to Skyrim every so often. However, I don’t have the time to sit down and play for hours as I once did. Luckily, the Steam Deck is a fantastic device that lets me game wherever I want. Here’s how to play Skyrim on Steam Deck.
How to Play Skyrim on the Steam Deck
If you want to play Skyrim on your Steam Deck, it’s as easy as purchasing and downloading it straight from the Steam Store. Skyrim is also Steam Deck-approved, so you don’t have to worry about any issues running it. Once you have downloaded Skyrim, the game will appear in your Steam Library, and you’ll be ready to play.
However, there is one caveat, there are two different versions of Skyrim that you can download.
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Special Edition
- The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition
What Are the Differences Between Special and Anniversary Editions?
Both offer a remastered version of the original Skyrim with improved visuals and performance. The Special Edition includes the base game and the three main story expansions: Dawnguard, Hearthfire, and Dragonborn.
The Anniversary Edition goes a step further. It contains everything in the Special Edition but adds a lot of Creation Club content. This acts like the official paid mods, introducing new quests, gear, and dungeons. The Anniversary Edition offers a treasure trove of new adventures if you’re a Skyrim veteran looking for fresh experiences in the familiar world.
