As a long-time PC player, I love modding. Whenever I have the opportunity, I play through a new release once in a vanilla playthrough, and then I dive headfirst into the modding scene. I seek out new weapons and equipment, overhauls, quality-of-life tweaks, and more. So, you can bet I’m looking forward to Stalker 2 mod support. Is it happening?
Does Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl Have Mod Support?
Yes! Straight out of the gate, Stalker 2 does offer mod support. Interested players with some game modification know-how will have an opportunity to craft their own content, rework core mechanics, introduce new factions and characters, and create entire overhauls.
The reason why the S.T.A.L.K.E.R. franchise has persisted for so very long with its cult following is, in no small part, thanks to the modding community. You can find a wide array of game mods online, especially over at Nexus, but also on self-hosted websites, Discords, and Patreons. They’re everywhere!
I’m looking forward to more of the same in Hearty of Chornobyl!

What Types of Mods Might We See?
I suspect we’ll see several impressive overhauls, total conversion mods, and more than a few new weapons added to the mix. I’m a big fan of tacticool mods, with custom weapons and attachments, that I can play around with in a massive open world.
Right now, some of the top mods for past Stalker titles include:
- S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Anomaly
- Oblivion Lost
- Autumn Aurora 2
That said, I imagine everyone intends to dive into the game first, enjoy the experience after all these years, and then start working on game mods. I don’t blame mod developers if they want to complete a playthrough or two of the game!
Stalker 2: Heart of Chornobyl remains at the top of our list of most anticipated games of this year. The Guide Hall cannot wait to dive in and explore every nook and cranny of the Zone!
