We’ve seen quite the surge in survival role-playing games with extensive base-building mechanics in the past few years — Enshrouded, Valheim, RuneScape Dragonwilds. It’s a booming genre, and one I’m here for. They’ve all come a long way during development, but it’s time for one to take the stand. Developer Keen Games is excited to announce that Enshrouded 1.0 is coming to PC and PlayStation 5 on October 15, 2026. Unfortunately, the Xbox Series X version remains in active development and won’t launch until spring 2027.
In the announcement, Keen Games said:
Our team worked tirelessly to bring 1.0 and its exciting new content to both the PS5 and Xbox X|S editions, with the goal of launching everywhere at once. Our game pushes a lot of complex systems at once like deep terraforming and building at a scale we’re really proud of. Bringing all of that to two console platforms simultaneously proved more demanding than we anticipated. Rather than rush, we made the call to focus and get each version right. We refuse to compromise on the quality of the game, and we know Xbox players expect the best. Work on the Xbox X|S edition is ongoing, and we plan to launch it in spring 2027. Players can look forward to more details about 1.0 this summer.
Since its reveal on May 3, 2023, Enshrouded has received countless development and systemic updates in Early Access. The team has launched eight major updates, adding new biomes, monsters, weapons, armors, base-building materials, decorations, and more.
Now, it’s getting better.
