Many would argue that Xbox isn’t winning any awards for its lackluster video game releases in recent memory. But, following today’s showcase, I feel like that’s changing. The Xbox Partner Preview 2026 on March 26 unveiled countless upcoming releases, expansions, and console launches that, admittedly, I’m beyond excited to play. Here’s the best of what was shown off!
Artificial Detective | Reveal
Artificial Detective is a third-person action-adventure where you step into the shoes of a robodetective in a dystopian city overrun by rogue robots. Lead your underdog team of a military robodog and a human girl, as you fight, hack, and outsmart deadly machines to uncover why humans are gone.
Explore the multilayered districts of Conglomerate North, search for clues, weaponize the environment, and survive sandbox encounters your own way.
This one looks heavily story-focused, perhaps with detective elements? Overall, the movement and combat appear rather janky, but the voice acting, world-building, and the concept definitely have us intrigued!
Artificial Detective is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on PC in 2027.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope | Reveal
Be part of a massive storyline that unfolds around the conflict between two iconic factions — Duty and Freedom — and can take dozens of hours to complete. Visit the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant and the Iron Forest regions, face new dangers, try new weapons, and uncover secrets previously hidden from humanity.
Developer GSC Game World aims to craft massive expansions, similar in scope to previous titles, supposedly, to expand the world of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2 with new weapons, equipment, anomalies, characters, enemies, environments, and quests. Considering the main game is one of my favorite first-person shooters in recent years, I’m here for this one without question.
S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Cost of Hope is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on PC in Summer 2026.
Alien Deathstorm | Reveal
Explore a devastated off-world colony that is ravaged by a cataclysmic mega-storm and overrun by bloodthirsty aliens in Alien Deathstorm, the new sci-fi action horror FPS from Rebellion.
Using a combination of cunning and firepower you must defeat the countless lurking horrors in a desperate fight for survival.
Rebellion, known for the Sniper Elite franchise, is no stranger to quirky shooters. As of this writing, we don’t know much about Alien Deathstorm besides the overall premise and vibes, but it almost feels like a co-op horde shooter on the surface. Only time will tell!
Alien Deathstorm is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on PC sometime in 2027.
Stranger Than Heaven | Reveal
An epic saga of men battling through five eras and five cities.
From developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio, Stranger Than Heaven features brutal, dynamic combat, exploration, an astounding soundtrack, and immersive gameplay from a studio known for creating captivating worlds.
Stranger Than Heaven is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on PC, though we don’t currently have a release window.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn | Official Gameplay
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is a third-person action RPG set in the universe of The Expanse. You’re no hero — just a mercenary caught in the wrong place at the wrong time, trying to keep your crew together and your ship running while the system closes in around you. Your choices will shape your story.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn, from developer Owlcat, known primarily for its CRPGs, looks to combine Mass Effect and Starfield in an expansive, story-driven world filled with unique quests, choices, and characters.
The Expanse: Osiris Reborn is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on Pc in Spring 2027.
Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish | Reveal
Vampires, Werewolves, Witches. What if I told you that the things that go bump in the night are real? What if I told you that you could see them?
Awaken to the truth you’re now a Hunter. Build your character, select skills, and work with a team of allies to investigate the monsters hidden in plain sight, to find their lairs, and to eradicate them. All the while, investigating a story that drags up memories from your past, ones that could change how you see the future.
Honestly? This looks like the game we were supposed to receive instead of Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines 2. Hunter is an action RPG set in New York City in which you play a hunter, venturing out each night to topple vampires, werewolves, and worse.
Hunter: The Reckoning – Deathwish is coming to Xbox Series X/S and Xbox on PC in Summer 2027.
