Bellwright: How to Get Copper

As you progress deeper into Bellwright, you’ll note that the occasional bit of stone, wood, and flax no longer suffice for crafting and construction. You start requiring more advanced resources, like tin and copper. Here is how to get copper in Bellwright, then copper ingots!

Where to Get Copper in Bellwright

To get copper in Bellwright, you’ll want to explore the map around the starting town of Haerndean. There are numerous copper ore deposits in the hills on the right-hand side of the town. Copper ore nodes feature green veins, making them stand out from normal stone nodes in the game.

Here’s the thing, however. You can’t just walk up and smack an ore node in Bellwright. You first require a pickaxe. Unfortunately, you won’t unlock pickaxe crafting for a little bit. It’s a recipe that stems from working with the local villagers to complete quests. In time, you’ll have a pickaxe.

However, for the time being, you won’t need one. If you stroll around the immediate area where you find a copper ore node, you’ll find the odd piece of copper ore on the ground. You can pick these up, though they’ll take a few slots in your inventory, so keep track of how much you grab.

Once you have some copper, head back to your budding settlement. If you have yet to do so, I recommend researching a Bloomery. Once unlocked, place down the Bloomery using the build menu. It requires a bit of stone and wood, so it is easy enough to construct in the early game.

After your Bloomery is running, access its crafting menu and select the copper ingot from the bottom recipe list. You can queue up a few of them, and your worker will bring the necessary resources before cooking up your ingot.
