If you’re a long-time fan of the extraction shooter genre, there are few competitors for the goliath: Escape From Tarkov. How Much is Escape From Tarkov?
There are four unique editions of Escape From Tarkov, each with a different price tag. These include:
- The Unheard Edition: $250
- Prepare for Escape: $110
- Left Behind: $80
- Standard: $50
If you want to try the game out, there’s nothing wrong with buying the Standard Edition for $50. It features the least amount of starting equipment, with a bit of armor, aid items, and just enough to get you into your first raid. It’s also the version I recommend most if you intend to play SPT—the Single Player Tarkov mod, which is free to download but requires a legit copy of Escape From Tarkov to play!
If you don’t mind pay-to-win mechanics, then The Unheard Edition for $250 is the go-to choice for anyone with a little too much money to spend. It’s brought a lot of shame to the community, and no one recommends paying for this version, but it’s your money.

Is Escape From Tarkov Worth the Cost?
Despite how much the community enjoys moaning about the developers, nothing like Escape From Tarkov is on the market today. A few titles come close, with Gray Zone Warfare offering a slightly more unique experience for extraction shooter fans, but Escape From Tarkov continues to hold the crown.
The weapon customization possibilities keep me returning for more, as I’m a fiend for a fantastic short-barrel rifle build!
That said, I do recommend Escape From Tarkov. It’s a thrilling experience that provides hundreds or even thousands of hours of gameplay, especially if you intend to play SPT!
