Bellwright: How to Fix Screen Tearing

I genuinely don’t mind tweaking a game’s graphical settings to get the most out of my experience with a new release. It’s part of the process as a PC player. But an Early Access release with a ton of screen tearing poses additional problems. Here is how to fix screen tearing in Bellwright!

How to Fix Screen Tearing in Bellwright

To fix screen tearing, you will want to pause the game and open the settings menu. Then, under graphical settings, change the following:

  • Vsync: On
  • Fixed Framerate: 60
  • Frame Generation: Disabled
  • Motion Blur: Off
  • Upscaling/AA Quality: Quality

As a last-ditch effort, altering the above settings should not help your screen tearing issue; reduce the overall graphics setting by one. For example, drop from Ultra to High under ‘Preset.’

I should note that changing these graphical settings did reduce the overall screen tearing I experienced, but it did not altogether remove the problem.

Can Screen Tearing Cause Motion Sickness in Bellwright?

While you’re doing your best to explore the game world and find Flax for crafting and construction recipes, the constant screen tearing is taking you out of the experience. Does this sound right?

It’s not just immersion-breaking, though. Screen tearing can lead to motion sickness in Bellwright, which is quite problematic to those already susceptible to any illness while playing video games.

Hopefully, altering the above graphical settings will reduce the amount of tearing you receive so that you can enjoy Bellwright!
