As you dive into the world of Bellwright, lost and confused, you’ll receive a simple task: get out of town because you’re causing problems and the villagers don’t want you. Instead, the village elder tasks you with building a Personal Shack outside their village limits. It’s quite the radius. Here is how to build a Personal Shack in Bellwright!
How to Build the Personal Shack in Bellwright
You would think that, with the game guiding you, building a Personal Shack in Bellwright appears simple at first glance. However, the building in the game is somewhat unintuitive and clunky occasionally. We’re here to help!
To build a Personal Shack, start by opening the build menu (Hotkey: B) and selecting your new home from the available options. It requires a few resources, namely Wood and Flax, that you can find in the surrounding area. After choosing the Shack, you’ll receive a ghostly blueprint to plop down wherever you choose, so long as it doesn’t intersect with any objects or is too close to the town.
Did you find an appropriate spot? Once you do, you’ll note a handful of white lines within a stick border. These mark the location for your Personal Shack, and you must place resources within the confines of the blueprint. But you can’t just toss them down or spam the interact key. To insert resources, you must find the white circles around the Personal Shack blueprint.
These white circles, unfortunately, tend to appear randomly around the interior and exterior of your Shack. You’ll fulfill the resource requirements on the left-hand side, but then the right-hand side requires more. You must circle the entire outline to find the resource points.

Resources Needed for a Personal Shack
To build a Personal Shack, you must have the following resources in your inventory:
- 10x Wood
- 6x Flax
While it doesn’t matter just yet, it’s important to note that you cannot pull resources automatically for blueprints out of your storage chest for future construction. You must have the necessary resources in your inventory to build in Bellwright. At least for now!
