Warhorse Studios Announces Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

We all knew the day would come when renowned developer Warhorse Studios, the genius studio behind Kingdom Come: Deliverance, would announce a sequel. Following the success of the first game—a medieval adventure simulation with RPG elements—the story of Henry could only continue. Now, it’s finally time. Warhorse Studios finally revealed Kingdome Come: Deliverance 2!

Developer Warhorse Studios Reveals Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2

If you’re unfamiliar with the first game, Kingdom Come: Deliverance is a first-person medieval RPG that heavily focuses on immersion to the point of becoming a borderline simulation. You play as Henry, the son of a blacksmith, but with an air of mystery about him. You’ll traverse his adventure from humble beginnings as a peasant in the mud to knighthood and beyond.

Now, Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 promises to expand Henry’s story and the world of Bohemia.

We’ll once more take on the role of Henry. But this time, he’s much more complex as a character, with nuances and branching pathways for the player to choose. You’re not locked into a specific “type” of Henry. You can play a scoundrel, a hero, or something in between.

Furthermore, the world is more vast and fleshed out than in the previous entry. You’ll shape the world around you, altering how others view Henry based on the actions you choose in daily life.

For those who want more RPG elements from Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, the game does offer customization, allowing you to change Henry’s appearance. How much, however, remains to be seen. You can also select skills and equipment to suit your play style and build.

Should You Play Kingdome Come: Deliverance Before Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2?

I’m perhaps not the best person to ask about Kingdom Come: Deliverance. It’s in my backlog but remains unfinished. It’s one of those daunting open-world RPGs that, like The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, I’ve started numerous times but have yet to finish a single playthrough.

That said, following the sequel’s announcement and expansion to the world and story of Henry, I do recommend playing Kingdom Come: Deliverance first. I know I’ll return to the first game to finish my journey as Henry.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 will launch on PC sometime this year, though an official release date is unavailable. You can wishlist and follow the game on its Steam Page!
