Is Star Wars Outlaws Single Player? – Answered

I love an enthralling single-player story in gaming. More often than not, in my spare time after work, I’m diving into a single-player adventure, catching up on highly-regarded tales of heroes and adventure. With that in mind, I’m excited about an open-world Star Wars title finally happening. So, is Star Wars Outlaws single-player?

Is Star Wars Outlaws Single Player Only?

Unfortunately, for anyone hoping for a multiplayer or cooperative open-world Star Wars adventure, this isn’t that game. Star Wars Outlaws is an entirely single-player story following the main character, Kay Vess, as she pursues freedom. She’ll duke it out against much of the galaxy, including the nefarious Syndicate, in a life of crime.

I don’t think Star Wars Outlaws benefits from forcing a multiplayer or cooperative component into the mix. Not every game under the sun requires multiplayer, and this is one I’m happy to dive into solo for the adventure. How about you?

Is Star Wars Outlaws Always Online?

While a single-player-0nly experience isn’t a deal-breaker for most people, an always online requirement is usually a problem. Sadly, Star Wars Outlaws does require a constant internet connection to play, most likely to keep you connected to the Ubisoft ecosystem so that they may display in-game cosmetics and microtransactions.

Take a look at a few of their most recent titles, such as Avatar, Skull and Bones, and Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla. All of them are worthwhile experiences to some degree, but they are marred by a constantly updating in-game store that pushes microtransactions on players.
