As one of the last standing samurai on the island, Jin Sakai must find the Resolve to stand against the land’s oppressors. But after multiple mishaps at the beginning of the game, he’ll need help from more than just the Guiding Wind. Here is how to increase Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima!
How to Boost Your Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima
To increase Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima, you must find and participate in the Bamboo Strikes mini-game. You’ll find twenty of these locations around Tsushima and Iki Island, and each one features a unique combination of face and shoulder buttons (controller) or keys (mouse and keyboard) in a quick-time event.
Unlike your typical quick-time event, this one in Ghost of Tsushima proves rather challenging. You must memorize the button prompts for a few seconds, then hit them in quick succession, almost simultaneously, to strike through each bamboo piece.

If you can finish the entire challenge successfully, you’ll receive a slight boost to your overall Resolve. For context, Resolve in Ghost of Tsushima is Jin’s strength, his ability to heal or perform unique combat techniques. Eventually, as you complete all of the game’s Bamboo Strikes, you’ll unlock up to 10 Resolve.
Furthermore, you can refill your Resolve by performing a parry attack or killing enemies quickly.
