Following Microsoft’s acquisition of Blizzard, everyone knew deep down that this would happen. Blizzard’s iconic IPs, including their newest, Starfield, would launch exclusively on Xbox and PC. Well, on release, the space exploration RPG indeed ignored the PS5. But is that about to change? When is Starfield coming to PS5?
Will Starfield Launch on PS5?
There is no official word on when Starfield will launch on PS5. It will happen, though. A rumor circulating online indicates that all of Microsoft’s recent hits, including Starfield, will launch on PlayStation 5.
More recently, we saw Grounded and Sea of Thieves finally launch on Sony’s current-gen system, and they did exceptionally well. Sea of Thieves launched as one of the top titles on the system, with the most pre-orders at the time. It’s safe to assume that everyone wants an exceptional pirate adventure game, but people yearn for less exclusivity overall!

Will PlayStation Games Come to Xbox?
With Microsoft’s recent trajectory, eliminating exclusivity altogether in stages, I wouldn’t be surprised if Sony follows suit in due time. Word is they’re already talking to Microsoft about launching Helldivers 2 on Xbox Series X|S.
As someone who positively adores Helldivers 2 on PC, I’m excited for all of the new Helldivers fighting on behalf of Super Earth.
It’s just a matter of time before console exclusivity disappears. Fewer exclusives in the gaming industry will always be positive for us, the players, in the long run!
