As part of the positively massive and exciting Starfield May update, you can now decorate the interior of your starship to suit your style and liking. It’s easy to place down couches, benches, posters, and crafting workbenches within the ship habitats available to you. Here is how to decorate your ship in Starfield!
How to Decorate Your Ship Interior in Starfield
You can decorate your ship in Starfield by accessing the interior of your home starship and then navigating through the modules to the cockpit. On The Frontier, the Decoration Console is located to the right, just inside the door leading to the pilot’s seat. On other ships, it’s located near the same spot relative to the module’s design.
Once you select the console, you’ll receive the new build menu (shown in the screenshot below) and the various decoration items available. These include furniture, workbenches, and wall decorations, among other items.
Like all of the game’s crafting, you require resources to construct and place any of these decorations. For instance, a chair requires x2 Aluminum and x2 Fiber. This feature gives us another reason to harvest resources on the various planets!
As you can see, The Frontier interior is rather cramped, which doesn’t allow for many decorations. Furthermore, the odd, slanted shape of the hab walls means you can’t place posters, and wall-mounted objects, like the weapon rack in the back, are challenging to place evenly.

How to Unlock New Ship Decorations in Starfield
To unlock new ship decorations in Starfield, you’ll want to gather resources, complete side quests, like Space Frog from Outer Space, which unlocks the Space Frog posters, and check the vendors for various items and modules.
While this is purely speculation, I imagine we’ll see paid microtransaction decorations once the Creation Club for Starfield becomes available. Then, there is the modding community, which will go wild creating new items to decorate our starships with!
