At last, we have reached the final mansion, and with it comes one last set of hidden gems. There are several hidden Diamonds throughout Treacherous Mansion for players to collect. This guide will show you how to find the Diamonds in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD.
We’ll organize this guide by the first mission in which each gem can be found. Some missions contain multiple gems, and there are also some special missions in which most of the gems can be found. For this guide, however, we will go by the gems’ first appearance.
One other note: the Diamonds found in mission E-1 cannot be obtained in later missions, so grab them when you can!
E-1 Diamonds
Diamond 1:
First, head to the Underground Laboratory and clear the ghosts. Then, turn the wheel to activate the electricity.
A boo will pop out from the suit of armor, so make sure to catch it. Once done, find the knight’s helmet, which should have popped off when the electricity hit the armor. Aim it at the jar on the right, which contains the Diamond. Shoot the helmet at the jar to collect it.
Diamond 2:
Before pursuing Polterpup, interact with the knight holding the sword. It will point to the hall beside the knight. Go down that hall.
Follow the knights’ directions as they continue to point down different halls. Eventually, you’ll come to a hall without a knight. Walk all the to the back wall and turn towards the left corner. Use your blacklight to reveal a hidden knight leaning against the wall.
The knight will point you directly ahead. Follow his direction and you’ll walk into a secret chamber, which has a painting of a cobweb. Use your blacklight on the painting and grab the cobweb. Then, set it on fire and go back the way you came.
Head back to the previous hallway. You may have noticed the webs blocking the Diamond off. Use the cobweb to burn those webs down, allowing you to collect the gem.
Diamond 3:
Once you’ve collected the previous Diamond, head up that same hallway and find a wooden door on the right side.
Enter the door and make it to the Cliffside. The Diamond will be hanging off a vine. Use your vacuum to collect it.

E-2 Diamonds
Diamond 4:
Once you head into the mansion, use your blacklight on the right gargoyle. This will reveal a red ball chain. Pull it to reveal a safe hidden underneath the stairs. Open the safe with the strobe light and defeat the strong Slammer to obtain the Diamond.
Diamond 5:
Head to the restrooms. The left door to the restroom is hidden. Use your blacklight to reveal it.
Walk into the room and grab the red ball chain. This will cause a geyser to shoot from the toilet, shooting the Diamond out.
Diamond 6:
Make your way to the Ice Age Exhibit. Once you’re there, tug on the mammoth’s trunk.
Pulling on the trunk will take you to the Gargoyle’s Roof. You will see a large star comprised of smaller stars. Complete the star in order to get the Diamond.
Diamond 7:
First, head to the Dark Age Exhibit. Here, you’ll need to grab a bucket.
Next, head to the Jungle Exhibit. Here, fill the bucket up with water.
Finally, head to the Ancient Exhibit. On the top level, there will be an ungrown flower. Use the bucket to water the flower. Once it grows, use your strobe bulb to collect the Diamond.
E-3 Diamonds
Diamond 8:
Go to the Aviation Exhibit. Pull on the red sandbags hanging from the hot air balloon. This will cause the trapdoor beneath it to start opening. Some strong enemies will appear while you do this, so catch them and pull the other sandbag off. This will cause the Diamond to shoot out from the floor, allowing you to collect it.
Diamond 9:
Make your way to the Nautical Exhibit. When you enter the room, you won’t be able to use your strobe light because of the cold air, so shut the window near the ceiling and clear the air. Capture the ghosts in the room and activate the portal. Then, head back to the Jungle Exhibit and grab a log.
Take the log back to the Nautical Exhibit. Head onto the boat and drop it on the lifesaver. This will reveal a door that leads outside. There will be a chest at the end of the ship that contains the Diamond.
Diamond 10:
While you’re in the Nautical Exhibit, turn the compass on the floor North. This will cause the portal to flip to the next room. Once you’ve done that, head to the Study and grab one of the balloon plants there.
Once you’ve got the balloon, head back to the Front Entrance. Use the balloon to reach the ledge on the right side of the room. A gargoyle holding a blue book will be there. Use your strobe bulb to make it release the book. Then, use the balloon plant on the ledge to make your way back down.
Retrieve the book and make your way to the Dark Age Exhibit. Place the book on the bookshelf with the missing book. This will reveal a little nook, allowing you to collect the Diamond.
Diamond 11:
Head back to the Study and grab another balloon plant. Then, make your way to the Jungle Exhibit and fly up to the trees. Go to the golden balloon plant. Once you grab it, a bunch of coins will spawn. Collecting them all will reward you with a chest containing the Diamond.
Diamond 12:
This gem is very similar to the last. Grab a balloon plant either from the Jungle Exhibit or the Study, and head over to the Ice Age Exhibit. Fly up to the top left side of the exhibit. There will be another golden balloon plant there. Grab it and collect all of the coins. A chest will spawn near where the golden balloon was, and it will once again contain the Diamond.
Diamond 13:
The final Diamond of Treacherous Mansion, and the last gem to be collected in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, is located in the Train Exhibit. Once you clear the ghosts in the room, use your blacklight to reveal the missing track on the floor. This will cause the train to move forward. Luigi will go for a short and eventful ride. Once he returns, you will collect the final Diamond.
Reward:
Your reward for collecting every Diamond is a special statue of Luigi, which can be viewed in the Gallery.
