There are many collectibles in Luigi’s Mansion 2 HD, but they can be pretty challenging to find. If you’re having trouble finding the numerous hidden gems in the game, you’ve come to the right place. In this guide, we’ll show you the location of all the hidden Luigi’s Mansion 2 Amethysts in Gloomy Manor.
We’ll organize this article by the first mission in which each gem can be found. Some missions contain multiple gems. There are also some special missions where a majority of the gems can be found. For this article, however, we will be going by the gems’ first appearance.
A-1 Amethysts
Amethyst 1:
Once you’ve entered the mansion and obtained the Poltergeist 5000 and the Strobe Bulb, head back to the entrance and enter the Mudroom on the right.
Head to the back right of the room and look at the window. You’ll see Polterpup playing with the Amethyst outside. After throwing up into the tree, Polterpup will run off, and you can head outside.
Once outside, run down the pathway and make your way to the tree. Look up and suck the gem out of the tree.
Amethyst 2:
Once you grab the first gem, return to the Entrance and head outside the mansion. Walk to the purple flowers beside the stairs. The second one from the stairs contains the Amethyst.
A-2 Amethysts
Amethyst 3:
Head upstairs and walk down the hallway. Go into the last door to enter the Parlor.
Once you defeat the ghosts in this room and collect the gear, head towards the clock at the back of the room. Point your flashlight up and use your strobe light to unlock the Amethyst.
Amethyst 4:
Enter the Bedroom upstairs and use the secret bed passage to the Study.
Use the fireplace to slide down to the Studio. Defeat the ghosts there, then walk to the window at the back of the room.
Use your vacuum to suck the Amethyst from the top left edge of the window.
A-3 Amethysts
Amethyst 5:
When you load into the mission, please walk up to one of the knights at the Entrance and take one of their helmets.
Take the helmet and point it at the picture of the knight helmet. You should lock on to it when you point at it. Press ZR to shoot the helmet at the picture and unlock the Amethyst.
Amethyst 6:
Unlock the Library and head through the upper floor to reach the Dining Room. Head to the right side of the room and look up. A vault on the ceiling can be unlocked with the strobe light. This will give you the Amethyst.
Amethyst 7:
Head to the end of the Dining Room and open the trapdoor with the chord hanging from the ceiling to travel down to the Kitchen.
Once in the Kitchen, defeat the ghosts and open the refrigerator. The Amethyst will be frozen in a block of ice.
Bring the block to the stove at the other end of the Kitchen. Hold it up to the fire to free the collectible.

A-4 Amethysts
Amethyst 8:
Once you obtain the Blacklight, head to the north of the hallway, grab the key to the painting, and reveal the hidden door.
Once you make it outside, reveal the hidden door near the merry-go-round. This will lead into a secret room and then into the Foyer.
The Amethyst will be behind the fish tank.
Amethyst 9:
Back outside, head towards the fountain and stand in front of the stairs. Use your blacklight to reveal the hidden fish statue. Once revealed, the statue will spit out the Amethyst.
Amethyst 10:
Before going to the Dining Room, head to the left and enter the Library.
Head to the other side of the room and use your blacklight. This will reveal a globe, which you can pick up. Bring it towards the fire, and it will give you the Amethyst.
Amethyst 11:
Head back to the Bedroom and enter the Study. There is a painting hidden by some cloth. Use the blacklight on the painting to collect the Amethyst.
A-5 Amethysts
Amethyst 12:
Once you clear the webs in the upstairs hallway, pull down the staircase and head up to the rafters.
Head all the way to the right towards the right and look for the mirror. The Amethyst will be sitting on top of it.
Amethyst 13:
The final Amethyst is located in the bedroom. Once you defeat the ghosts, open the heater and blow the fan to catch the webs on fire. Then, walk behind the screen to collect the final Amethyst.
Reward
Your reward for collecting every Amethyst is a special statue of Luigi, which can be viewed in the Gallery.
