Following a rather impressive gameplay reveal at Summer Game Fest, horror gaming fans like us want to know more about the Slitterhead release date. We want details about this unique project from Silent Hill’s creator, Keiichiro Toyama!
When is Slitterhead Coming Out?
Thanks to the brand-new gameplay trailer, which gave us our firsthand look at Slitterhead, we know the official release date is November 8, 2024. Slitterhead will launch on:
- PC
- PlayStation 4
- PlayStation 5
- Xbox Series X|S
It was recently revealed that, while launching on most of the same systems, Black Myth: Wukong won’t release on the Xbox Series X|S simultaneously. We’re hopeful that Slitterhead won’t follow suit, with optimizing being a primary concern on the Microsoft-owned console.
For now, there’s plenty of hype surrounding Slitterhead. It’s a unique and awe-inspiring upcoming horror game that should give us something interesting to play through the end of the year!

What is Slitterhead?
Slitterhead, the upcoming horror game from Silent Hill creator Keiichiro Toyama, sees players as Hyoki, an ethereal being. As you traverse the neon-lit city of Kowlong, you will transfer your consciousness to the citizenry to stop Slitterheads from terrorizing the population.
Furthermore, according to Toyama, sacrificing characters will play a significant role in the gameplay loop. While you can control any characters you stumble upon, you’ll likely swap frequently. It’s unclear if each character offers unique traits or abilities, but from the gameplay trailer, it appears likely. We saw swords, claws made of flesh, and the usual weapons, like shotguns.
