Diablo 4: How to Become Bloodmarked

You’ll spend much of your time in Diablo 4 tackling PvE content, such as World Bosses, Dungeons, and Helltide. But occasionally, as part of the current season or to complete various challenges, you must muster up the strength to venture into a PvP zone. Here is how to become Bloodmarked in Diablo 4!

How to Receive Bloodmarked Status in Diablo 4

To activate Mark of Blood in Diablo 4, open your emote wheel and, if you’ve yet to customize the wheel, then tab over to the right. The Mark of Blood should be on the bottom section of the wheel and, once activated, makes you Bloodmarked for all to see and, unfortunately, attack on sight.

There’s a catch, though. You can only activate the Mark of Blood in a PvP zone, of which there are multiple around the map. You can tell it’s a PvP zone by the dull-red hue and numerous Grim Favor objectives within the zone itself!

There are countless reasons to become Bloodmarked in D4, with the primary one this season as part of the Chapter 3 objectives, namely Predator and Prey, which requires you to defeat 666 monsters while Bloodmarked in Hostile zones. It rewards Smaller Favor, but it’s part of the grand scheme of the chapter!

Tips to Succeed in Diablo 4 PvP

I’m not generally one to engage in PvP; I’m just not competitive. But I’ll partake in Diablo 4 for multiple reasons, such as testing my build against the ultimate enemy: people. Or, better yet, to unlock various PvP-only rewards, like Mounts, Mount Armor, and Trophies.

If you’re at all like me, then you could likely use a helping hand with the game’s PvP. Here are a few tips and tricks:

  • Don’t rush into the game’s PvP mode, as it’s not designed for casual play. You’ll want to obtain a high level, really focus on optimizing your build, and learn how to play your class properly. Only then should you venture into a PvP zone to battle other players.
  • Once you do engage in PvP with another player—hopefully, it’s just a single foe—don’t forget to watch your health pool. Unlike tackling monsters, humans prove more challenging and erratic. You’ll take damage—a lot of damage—and will likely want to spam health potions until the fight concludes.
  • If you die, don’t rage-quit. It’s part of the experience, and until you gain a firm grasp on the PvP mechanics and gameplay, you’ll die plenty. It’s part of the learning experience, even though your Seeds of Hatred are on the line.

The Guide Hall doesn’t focus on PvP in Diablo 4, but we can hold our own in a one-on-one fight with a Sorc or Druid. But a Necromancer? Keep back, foul fiend!
