Who doesn’t want to get paid to play video games all day? Becoming a top-tier video game streamer is a dream unlike any other, but it’s one that’s flooded with competition. Most go unnoticed, sadly. But thanks to some upcoming changes coming to the streaming platform in 2025, you can make money on Twitch on your first day of streaming sometime in 2025.
According to a recent blog post, Twitch intends to introduce new tools and opportunities to help small and prospective streaming channels grow their earnings and attract new viewers. One of the most significant core changes we’re excited about is the ability to monetize your stream on day one, allowing you to earn from the get-go. It’s a fantastic incentive that should give everyone on the fence the push they need!
- We are working on features to help you earn more money while collaborating. In particular we will be launching Shared Hype Trains for people using Stream Together or Shared Chat and will be exploring other monetization features that can be used when you are collaborating to drive more revenue like shared sub goals.
- In 2025, we’re excited to open up monetization tools—subscriptions and bits—to most streamers, from day one. This will allow creators, regardless of their status, to grow their communities and start building earnings through direct patronage.
- We’re also introducing an option, which will allow all streamers to use their earnings on purchases within Twitch.
Alongside these changes, Twitch intends to focus on fixing, introducing, and improving the following features this year:
- Improving the mobile viewing experience
- Additional ways to edit and share clips
- Bring in new creator sponsorships
- Promotional events
- Interactive features for community support
- Unity Guilds and Ambassadors
- New enforcement system and tools
It’s a lot to take in, and these changes should help cement Twitch’s position as the top streaming platform in 2025!
