It’s official! The Outlast Trials release on PS5 is set for March 5! A few short days from this guide, the multiplayer horror game becomes available for everyone on consoles, including PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, to purchase and play.
As someone who spent a lot of time playing the game on PlayStation 5 and PC, I can tell you it’s an extravagant, memorable, and terrifying horror game. Even if you play with a group, which usually diminishes the overall experience of a horror game, The Outlast Trials proves exceptionally scary.

What is The Outlast Trials?
The Outlast Trials, the first multiplayer game set in the universe developer Red Barrels first introduced the world to in 2013 with Outlast. This time around, instead of playing a lone reporter with a video camera, we take on the role of a patient locked away in a facility run by Murkoff, where they perform various tests in the form of trials on us. We’re guinea pigs.
Every trial features unique objectives with varying locations and complexity, ranging from restarting generators to finding keys hidden within bodies. It’s a gory, graphic game, but one many of us cannot put down.
