It’s always nice to keep track of your favorite video game releases in 2024 and beyond. It’s already been an excellent year for new games, and the cooperative horror genre saw its most exciting release to date. When did The Outlast Trials come out?
When Did Early Access Start?
The Outlast Trials launched into Steam Early Access on May 18, 2023, less than a year ago today as of this writing, and it features a pretty nice amount of content for its early build.
You were able to play through four programs, three Trials, and six challenges across several maps. For those willing to spend the time testing out the early build, you could unlock a handful of outfits and numerous upgrades for your character in Early Access!

When Did The Outlast Trials Come Out in 1.0?
Following less than a year in Early Access, The Outlast Trials officially launched on March 5, 2024. The full release featured the same content from Early Access but was more refined overall. The big release included the Toy Factory, additional MK Challenges, and even more outfits and customization options for your character and cell.
What’s Next For The Outlast Trials?
It’s tough to tell precisely what developer Red Barrels has in store for The Outlast Trials beyond the usual promises of new content. There is The Outlast Trials roadmap available, and it includes:
- New Trials
- New Prime Asset
- Rigs
- Amps
- Rewards
- Weekly Events
- Daily Tasks
- Infinite Mode
- New Game Modes
- New Enemies
It’s a lot of content for the coming months, with much of it releasing in Summer 2024!
