Chef RPG—the cozy culinary adventure in which you manage a restaurant, forage, craft, and befriend/romance locals—continues to improve with every passing update as the game remains in Early Access. Developer World 2 Studio, in my humble opinion, has a clear-cut winner on its hands. With that said, what’s new in Chef RPG update 0.6? It’s a big one!
Everything Added to Chef RPG in Update 0.6
Initially, I thought this was a relatively minor update, but after delving into the full patch notes and content additions, I’m more than satisfied and ready to jump back into Chef RPG!
- Prestige System
- An all-new progression system with unlockable goals that you’ll complete through restaurant services. As you increase your Prestige Level, you’ll receive rewards, such as Power Cells, Recipes, and Skills Points.
- Town Contributions
- You can now spend your Credits and Resources to help the town via Contribution Points. By tackling bulletin board tasks, you’ll integrate yourself with the community, helping to fix up and upgrade key parts of the town.
- Crafting System Overhaul
- The current crafting system was lacking, so the studio enhanced and overhauled the mechanic to include Blueprints, Ore Refining, and Additional Resources.
- Chef Awards
- If you think you’re the best chef in town, prove it! By completing restaurant services, you’ll unlock Chef Awards that reward you with Power Cells and, in future updates, additional unlockables.
- New Quests
- There are now an additional six early- to mid-game side quests added to the world of Chef RPG, with some introducing game mechanics, like farming and brewing.
- Beach Caves Expansion
- The long-awaited second level of the beach caves is now available, with additional mineral deposits for crafting resources.
There are several core gameplay and experience improvements added with this update, namely:
- Pacing and soft-locks
- Skill changes
- Minigame improvements
- Improved SFX
- Numerous quality of life additions
Lastly, the game has numerous quality-of-life additions that affect storage, collections, key items, note items, and other UI improvements, too!
