Fallout 76 has enjoyed numerous massive content updates over the years that completely alter the game for the better, such as Wastelanders, Steel Dawn, Steel Reign, and Nuka-World on Tour, to name but a few. But there’s about to be a new kid on the block. Honestly, as a long-term player, this is the update I’m most excited about. So, what’s new in Fallout 76 Milepost Zero? So very much!
Everything New in Milepost Zero
Do you remember how significant Wastelanders was to Fallout 76? It was a game-changing update that completely revamped the experience and brought back players in droves. I suspect Milepost Zero will be remembered similarly after its launch. But for now, here’s what’s new in Fallout 76 Milepost Zero:
- Season 18
- Blue Ridge Caravan Company quests and content
- New Outpost construction and decoration system
- A total rebalancing of fire and poison damage
- Legendary crafting mechanics
Over on its official X (formerly Twitter), Bethesda unveiled a brand-new Developer Preview delving into much of the new content in Milepost Zero. You can check that out right here:
To summarize the four-minute video:
- Players can run routes together along Skyline Drive with a caravan.
- There’s an upfront cost, payable in Caps, to start running a Caravan.
- Passing players can join in and help your Caravan.
- You can set up defensive points and a C.A.M.P. to help passing Caravans or to sell additional goods to runners.
- Completing jobs for the Blue Ridge Caravan Company unlocks a Caravan Outpost for players, with the means to expand and customize the interior and invite NPCs.
- You can train Brahmin and brand them with unique names to personalize each.
- Best Builds expands the C.A.M.P. system by allowing players to build, upload, and vote for the best builds across servers.
- Gear receives an expansion with the new legendary crafting system to scrap Legendaries at a workbench, unlocking recipes for mods.
I love the idea of building up a personal Caravan Outpost, filling it with useful vendors, and training a Brahmin. It’s a touch of immersion and personalization that will ensure I continue roaming Appalachia for the foreseeable future!
