The team at Ramjet has been quietly working on Vein for what feels like forever, with regular updates improving the alpha experience monthly. But now, they’re finally comfortable launching Vein Early Access to the masses. It’s happening, and from what we’ve seen, it’s going to be the comprehensive zombie survival game—at least in first-person.
Vein, stylized as VEIN, is coming to Steam Early Access on October 24 and will cost $19.99 (Yes, with region-based pricing outside of the United States), and launches with the usual 10% discount for early adopters.
On top of the Early Access game, the team at Ramjet intends to release a separate soundtrack for $7.99. They promise regular updates to the soundtrack as additional tracks are released. If you purchase both the game and soundtrack together, there’s a 10% discount in store for you.
What Does Vein Early Access Include?
The most significant change from the currently available demo of Vein includes the addition of a new region: Dannemora and Lion Mountain. These towns sit to the north of the current demo region, and will include:
- Clinton Correctional Facility
- Lyon Mountain Mines
- Businesses: Pharmacy, Restaurants, Gift Shops
- Standish
- Chazy Highlands
Alongside the new locations, the stat cap is being raised from 75 to 100, with countless high-tier perks being added to the game, many of which will be implemented over time during Early Access. The team said they have approximately 30% of those perks ready to go now.
Furthermore, the new zone will include all-new weapons, zombie variants, items, tools, etc. Things we haven’t seen in the demo will be present.
Vein is often called the first-person Project Zomboid, and having played the demo countless times with a group of friends, I can see the comparisons. Should Ramjet continue on its current path, this is one zombie apocalypse game we could play seemingly forever!
