I’ll be the first to admit that I fell behind on DLC releases with the launch of Omens of Destruction. But for the longest time, my wife and I kept up with every new content update and DLC drop for Total War: Warhammer 3, regularly launching into new campaigns vying for world domination. But I was genuinely excited for the upcoming Tides of Torrent.
Unfortunately, developer The Creative Assembly announced it’s not launching this summer as intended, but at some unknown point later this year. No, there’s no exact release date, sadly.
Why did the studio delay the game this close to its potential launch? Well, according to its recent blog post on the subject, they discovered that, during playtesting, the DLC didn’t meet quality standards. It’s certainly an admirable reason for delaying a DLC drop.
Unfortunately, they did state that the changes they intend to make to the content will alter the Slaanesh and Norsca announcements previously made during the ‘What’s Next’ video series on YouTube. We’ll learn more about said changes, along with the third faction featured in the DLC, during the next What’s Next.
In the meantime, now is an excellent time to boot up another Skaven campaign or check out the recent Siege Mode in Space Marine 2!
