On July 5, 2025, Nintendo released a new trailer for The Legend of Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom, revealing more story and gameplay elements. With a six-minute gameplay trailer, fans may have missed some important information. Here are the top five things shown in the Zelda: Echoes of Wisdom Trailer.
Zelda’s New Bind Ability
One of the most significant gameplay mechanics revealed was Zelda’s new Bind power. This new ability allows you to take hold of any object and make it follow Zelda’s movements. Bind opens up a plethora of possibilities that you can use to solve any puzzle in the game. We see that players can Bind objects such as boulders, chests, and Echoes.
Zelda Can Wear Different Outfits
When Echos of Wisdom was initially announced, fans, including myself, were worried that Zelda would only wear the blue cloak covering her head. Since this is the first time we’ll be able to play as Zelda in a main series game, it would be disappointing to have her covered for the majority of the time. Luckily, similar to Tears of the Kingdom, there are different outfits and accessories that Zelda can equip to gain different abilities.
Cooking Makes A Return
The references don’t end with just wearing different outfits. In Echos of Wisdom, you can use other materials for cooking. More specifically, you can use ingredients to make smoothies at Smoothie Shops. Depending on your items, they’ll have different healing and status effects. However, we can also see that there’s a monster part in the menu to make smoothies which makes me wonder, can we make Dubious Smoothies?

Familiar Races Make A Return
During the trailer, we see that Zelda can interact with different races from Hyrule. As seen in previous games, players can talk to the Gerudo, Gorons, Zora, and even more races. However, we now get to see them in the art style of the Links Awakening Remake. Players can also visit familiar locations like the Gerudo Desert and Eldin Volcano.
Zelda Can Ride A Horse Across Hyrule
Traveling across Hyrule can be exciting; however, it may seem daunting to do it on foot. Luckily, Zelda gets a trusty steed all of her own in Echos of Wisdom. Zelda can also learn to create a Carrot Echo to summon the horse from anywhere on the map. The horse can also dash through weaker enemies to deal damage. On top of all that, the horse is adorable.
