Do We Know the Star Trucker Release Date?

There are so many unique indie games on the horizon that it’s almost hard to keep track of everything releasing in the next few months. But there’s one I’ve managed to play at every possible Steam Next Fest that’s a day-one buy: Star Trucker. It’s a unique spin on the truck-driving simulation genre. So, here’s what you need to know about the Star Trucker release date!

The Star Trucker Release Date For You Indie Fans

If you’re like me and can’t wait to get behind the wheel of a space-faring big rig, I have some good news for you. The official release date for Star Trucker is September 3! In just a few short weeks from the time of this writing, you’ll climb behind the wheel, drift off into space, and deliver cargo across the galaxy in your very own jet-powered cargo truck.

What is Star Trucker?

If you somehow stumbled upon this little piece by accident, welcome! But you’re probably curious about Star Trucker. It’s an ambitious indie game by developer Monster and Monster. In it, you haul cargo, trade salvage, repair your run-down truck, upgrade it over time by completing contracts and odd jobs, and enjoy a scenic twist on the usual truck simulation genre.

To date, the extremely limited genre has been dominated solely by developer SCS Software, which brought us American Truck Simulator and Euro Truck Simulator. But SCS didn’t take us to the stars!

From the gameplay I enjoyed during the most recent Steam Next Fest, Star Trucker offers a unique take on old-school truck-driving gameplay. You’ll soar through the skies using thrusters to control your speed and velocity, occasionally taking some damage as you encounter asteroid belts and debris fields. But that’s okay because you have a space suit and repair patches!

The Guide Hall likes to closely monitor thrilling indie projects like Star Trucker. It launches just before some of the biggest games of the year, so there’s time to deliver packages across the stars before the industry goes haywire!
