As far as the cozy farming sim genre, there’s no shortage of old, new, and upcoming titles to enjoy. But few look as good as Tales of Seikyu. The art style alone was enough to draw me in, but the gameplay was lacking up to this point. It’s Early Access, but it felt empty. Thankfully, developer ACE Entertainment is prepping Tales of Seikyu content update number one!
New Features in Tales of Seikyu Early Access Update 1
The update in question, which the team is calling the game’s First Early Access Content Update, will launch September 11. It includes the continuation of the story, character customization, additional heart events, and more to expand the game world!
Story Chapter
In the next chapter of the campaign, Bloom & Blond, players will continue the quest to uncover the fox form, learn more about the family tree, and help Kon master her human form. Along the way, there’s a rival tanuki clan to contend with, and the village needs help dealing with disharmony.
Character Customization
A highly requested feature from the community was, of course, character customization. Well, it’s coming in this release!
You can change your hairstyle, character model, skin color, eye color, facial markings, and so much more!
Villagers and Heart Events
There are two new romanceable villagers: Mika and Kincho. Mika runs the local Hot Springs, and Kincho controls the rival tanuki clan.
Along with the new romance options, the heart event mechanic is more fleshed out, with additional events for existing characters.
Hot Springs Dates
Speaking of Mika’s Hot Springs, you can take dates to the idyllic waters to unwind and get to know your prospective partners.
Dating is a all-new mechanic added to the game with this update, and it helps you develop your relationship with the romanceable characters across Seikyu.
Koiwa’s Ranch
On top of farming crops, players may now try their hand at ranching. You can visit Koiwa’s Ranch to raise farm animals, like cows and sheep, but also nontraditional creatures, such as capybara and ibis. They’ll have produce for use in cooking and crafting, opening up new avenues of commerce.
Tavern Mini Game
Lastly, there’s a tavern mini game that allows you to earn additional cash when not farming, ranching, or dating. You can help Shuten run the town’s bar by making drinks, prepping food, and filling customer orders promptly.
But wait, there’s more! Along with these key features, this update features new outfits, furniture, bug fixes, quality of life improvements, and character interactions!
