It’s always interesting to see which titles top the Steam best selling games charts month after month, especially with the year we’re having. With Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, Avowed, Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii—2025 is exceptional for new releases just a few months into the year. But, let’s look at the numbers!
According to a recent report by Simon Carless, as part of the GameDiscoverCo newsletter, February was a huge month sales-wise for new video game releases. Some of the most notable titles include:
- #1: Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 — $118.9m
- #2: Monster Hunter Wilds — $69.1m
- #3: Civilization VI — $66.1m
- #4: Avowed — $13.1m
- #5: Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii — $7.7m
Honestly, I’m a little shocked by some of these numbers. Primarily, Avowed and Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. I’m thoroughly enjoying both, and everyone I’ve talked with loves them, so to see them sitting in the fourth and fifth spots for the month, respectively, with significantly less sales than the top three is a little shocking.
Most impressively, looking at the numbers now, Simon discovered that Monster Hunter Wilds, which launched at the very end of February, has already surpassed Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 with a staggering $185m in sales since release.
