Where to Get Carrots in Stardew Valley
You cannot, unfortunately, purchase Carrots in Stardew Valley. You must find the Carrot Seeds by digging up Artifact Spots between Winter 21 and Spring 23. This method is how most players will discover Carrot Seeds to plant Carrots. But here are a few alternative methods to consider:
- Trade the Racoon Wife 1 Maple Seed.
- Use a Seed Mixer.
- Win one in the Prize Machine at the Mayor’s House
- Loot from Golden Fishing Treasure Chests.
How to Grow Carrots in Stardew Valley
To grow Carrots in Stardew Valley, you must first find Carrot Seeds, which we already went over. Once you have the Seeds, plant them like any other crop. They take up a single till spot with no trellis; just stick them in the ground and wait to pluck them after a few days.
In total, Carrots take 3 days to mature fully. They grow quickly, but only during the Spring, so either accumulate enough Carrot Seeds for the following year or plant them early enough to gain some benefit.

Can You Use Carrots for Anything in Stardew Valley?
First and foremost, as a crop, you’ll likely sell Carrots more than anything else.
However, if you don’t wish to sell every vegetable you scoop out of the ground, your horse will love the Carrots as a treat. They provide a buff of +0.4 speed for the entire day, so feed one to your trusty steed each morning for maximum efficiency in and around the farm!
