There’s a lot of hype surrounding this summer’s Star Wars Outlaws. If Ubisoft plays its cards right, it has a winning formula. But we all want to know how expansive this game will be at launch. Is Star Wars Outlaws open world?
Is Star Wars Outlaws An Open-World Game?
Star Wars Outlaws is being billed as the first-ever Star Wars open-world game, so it appears Ubisoft is going all-in with its open-world formula commonly found in the Far Cry franchise. However, we likely won’t clamber up the side of a radio tower. Instead, we’ll walk, run, ride, and soar across various planets to complete quests, meet unique characters, and complete missions for the underworld.
It’s unclear precisely how big each planet is in the game, though. The studio likened each planet to approximately the size of two or three zones in Assassin’s Creed: Odyssey, which was rather large.
As there are a total of five planets in Star Wars Outlaws, we suspect each planet will take approximately ten hours to complete. Of course, that’s just a guess. It will likely take longer if you intend to tackle all side quests and challenges, like collectibles.

How Many Planets Are There in Star Wars Outlaws?
You can expect to explore five planets in Star Wars Outlaws fully. These include:
- Akiva
- Cantonica
- Kijimi
- Tatooine
- Toshara Moon
Each planet offers unique environments, points of interest, and playstyles to overcome challenges and environmental designs. For instance, on Akiva, a jungle planet, you’ll stealthily move through the underbrush as you approach droid factories. Tatooine, the iconic desert world from the movies, proves ideal for high-speed chases across the dunes on the back of a speeder bike.
