If you’re one of the legions of fans of Warhammer 40,000, we’re in for quite the treat this year. Numerous Warhammer 40,000 projects are in the works, along with expansions and content updates to existing titles. But most exciting is the latest Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2 gameplay, which unveiled the co-op game mode!
Space Marine 2 Co-op for You and Two Friends
Instead of opting for the usual four-player co-op in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, developer Saber Interactive chose to support a three-player mode. You and your fellow Space Marines will don power armor and ultra-potent weaponry to deal with hordes of Tyranids. There are said to be hundreds of enemies on-screen at once, and from the gameplay shown below, we believe them!
The game features two distinct co-op modes: a three-player narrative campaign and numerous three-player co-op missions that are most likely standalone from the main storyline.

You Can Customize Your Space Marine
As part of the three-player Operations game mode in Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2, you can personalize your character. That’s right; you can customize your Space Marine. There are six unique classes to choose from—Tactical, Assault, Vanguard, Bulwark, Sniper, and Heavy—each one features extensive customization.
You’ll choose your loadout, with a primary and secondary weapon alongside a melee weapon. Thunder Hammer, anyone? From there, you can personalize your power armor, choosing from unique combinations of parts, decals, and color schemes for:
- Helm
- Pauldrons
- Breastplate
- Wargear
- Gauntlets
- Greaves
The trailer shows off a lot of bling, with the iconic blue power armor mixed with brilliant gold.
What’s more, you can customize your weapons. They reveal a chainsword decked out in black and gold for the ultimate Tyranid-slaying flair!
Space Marine 2 PvP is Coming!
Alongside the cooperative game mode, Operations, we’ll also receive a 6v6 PvP mode known as Eternal War. You’ll face off against an opposing team of Space Marines in arena battles.
It’s an excellent chance to show off your 40k style!
