Rotwood: How to Get Better Armor

I love a game with RPG mechanics, like skills, leveling up, and acquiring better weapons and armor. It’s all about the sense of progression and power. In Rotwood, you can acquire new abilities, though they’re run-specific, and purchase armor and weapons. They’re costly, but here’s how to get better armor in Rotwood!

Where to Get New Armor in Rotwood

As you progress through a run, there’s a slight chance to stumble upon a merchant camp. Here, you’ll find a demonic being and his hooded bird selling weapons, armor, skills, and trinkets for Corestones. Some of them prove rather expensive. Others, not so much.

For instance, you can buy a Basic Headband for one Corestone, which boosts your Maximum Health by +25. For a single Corestone? That’s fantastic and an absolute steal of a price!

On the left-hand side of the merchant, you’ll find the armor. On the right-hand side, the weapons. Down below, where you’ll note the crow atop its perch, you can discover new skills/perks to purchase. These perks, once bought, will randomly drop during a run.

How to Get More Corestones

You require Corestones in Rotwood to purchase better equipment and unlock new run-specific skills through the game’s various merchants. To get more Corestones, you must:

  • Complete challenges for Toot.
  • Defeat boss enemies during a run.
  • Finish a run.

As you progress deeper into the woods, unlocking new zones and learning the game’s mechanics, you’ll find it’s pretty easy to acquire Corestones. It can feel overwhelming at first, however, considering your first visit to the merchant during a run immediately tosses a few 200 and 300 Corestone price tags in your face!
