I’ve always loved management games. The ability to run a little shop, upgrade over time, sell products, construct buildings, workbenches, and more is relaxing and fun to me. As such, I took to Rise of Gun quickly, and I wound up learning a few things in my playtime. I’d like to share a few tips and tricks for Rise of Gun!
Keep Your Shop Clean

At first glance, your budding gun shop is overcome with trash. You’ll face off against costly piles of garbage, blood stains, smashed cups, and broken bottles. For the most part, the bits of trash won’t take long to clean; the rest is another story altogether.
Once you start cleaning, don’t stop. Keep your shop as clean as possible to increase your cleanliness and reputation bar. You want to entice customers to stop in to purchase supplies, and a messy shop won’t help any.
Buy a Tip Jar

If you don’t buy a tip jar as your first upgrade, you’re missing out on a ton of free money. Each time someone buys from your shop, whether it’s a handcrafted gun or ammunition, they’ll provide you with a tip so long as you serve them quickly. The faster you are and the more expensive the item, the bigger the tip.
I will say the tip jar is the single best investment you can make to earn money in the early game.
Invest in Ammo Production

That is, until you unlock ammo production. It’s game over once you have an ammo bench and ammo shelf. You’ll rake in so much cash by selling boxes of ammunition, which don’t cost much.
A single box of ammo sells for double the crafting cost. For instance, if you pay $30 for a box of 7.62 ammo, it’ll sell for $60. You’ll inevitably sell enough ammunition to feed your weaponsmithing projects.
This is seriously one of the best tips in Rise of Gun!

Don’t Buy Random Parts

At first, you may feel desperate to make a bit of money selling guns in the apocalypse. But don’t rush. If you rush, you make mistakes. For instance, wandering down to the parts merchant in the church, buying up whatever stock he has? Yeah, that’s a waste of money.
Do you see the red and green arrows on each part? Every item in the game features a base price, which you’ll start to learn over time, usually thanks to the custom orders mechanic. If an item has a red arrow, it means that part sells for less than its base price. If there’s a green arrow, then it’s more expensive. You want to buy low, then sell high.
Be strategic in how you purchase weapon parts in Rise of Gun!
Don’t Waste Money on Hotdogs

While questionably nutritious, you don’t have many options for food in the zombie apocalypse. As it turns out, the diner down the street sells hot dogs on tap, and they only cost $10 per dog!
What a deal, right? Wrong! That money adds up over time and is not worth the cost. If you spend $10 twice daily for hot dogs to satisfy your hunger meter, that’s a box of ammunition you could have sold.
If you deplete your hunger and stamina meter, it’s not the end of the world. Sure, it becomes annoying listening to your stomach growling and moving a little slower around the game world, but it’ll save you money in the long run!
Don’t Forget to Spin for Buffs

One of the many new mechanics in Rise of Gun is the ability to receive buffs as you level up through normal progression means. As you sell weapons, clear trash, and build improvements in and around your shop, you’ll earn XP that raises your level. Each level, you unlock a spin under ‘My Info’ in the in-game menu.
When you spin, you unlock three cards, and you must choose one. The result is a buff, such as a discount on parts, an experience bonus, greater buyer wait time, increased trader hours, etc.
Don’t forget to spin! Do not let your spins sit idly by, as you’re just wasting potential bonuses in the meantime!
Collect Your Mission Rewards

When you complete a mission, it’s easy to assume the game will automatically provide you with your reward. It doesn’t. You must open the menu, navigate to the ‘Mission’ tab at the top of the HUD, then select ‘Collect Reward’ for each of the completed missions in the game.
The Guide Hall recently expanded its shop to include a shooting range in the backyard in Rise of Gun. We’ll pull ourselves away occasionally to bring you new guides!
