You know, when it was first announced the night before April Fool’s Day, I thought for sure we were in for a joke or two from the team at Pocketpair. They did this previously, with the same visual novel concept, but said if the project ever saw recognition and support from the community, it would become a genuine project for the studio. Well, here we are, one week after April Fool’s Day, and the joke isn’t going away. It would appear the Palworld dating sim is genuine.
If you check out the Steam Discussions for Palworld: More Than Just A Pal, you’ll find an overwhelming number of posts asking if this is, in fact, a real game. It’s not the first time Pocketpair unveiled a visual novel for its hit third-person monster-collecting game Palworld, as they pulled a similar prank on April Fool’s Day previously. However, we’re one week into the month, and the game’s store page is still live today. As such, that points to a genuine release, as Steam wouldn’t take too kindly to a prank being on its store like that, we assume.
Currently, the game doesn’t have a release date, and beyond its store page information and a few trailers, there isn’t much to go on story-wise. It’s a dating sim, with some horror and romance elements, in which you’ll enjoy school life where you’ll encounter human friends and Pals, all of which you can romance and…pet.

I’m a little flabbergasted by some of the screenshots, but hey, I enjoy the occasional visual novel and romance elements in my video games, so I’m down to play this one!
