Astro’s Playroom is a pack-in platformer game for the PlayStation 5 that showcases the DualSense controller features through a series of nostalgic levels that celebrate PlayStation’s history. Players can unlock various outfits for Astro, each themed around iconic PlayStation franchises. With the release of Astro Bot on September 6, 2024, Sony announced that these outfits will carry over.
Outfits Make Astro Look Like Fan-Favorite Characters
In Astro’s Playroom, outfits add charm and nostalgia to the experience. These outfits allow Astro to dress up as characters from iconic PlayStation franchises. These include Kratos from God of War, Aloy from Horizon Zero Dawn, and Nathan Drake from Uncharted. Each outfit reflects the visual design of these beloved characters and pays homage to their gameplay mechanics and styles. Collecting and unlocking these outfits throughout the levels enhances the sense of exploration and discovery while celebrating PlayStation’s rich gaming legacy.

If you’ve collected all of the outfits in Astro’s Playroom, they will automatically transfer over to Astro Bot. However, you will have to beat Astro’s Playroom to do this. Luckily, you don’t need to get every collectible; it only takes around 3 hours to beat. Once players start Astro Bot, the game will look for any saved data for Astro’s Playroom and transfer over all the costumes you’ve collected.
How Many Outfits Are In Astro Bot?
The special outfits that look like iconic PlayStation characters are known as VIP Bots in the game. These span characters from multiple franchises, such as God of War and Horizon, to older series, like Sly Cooper and Jak and Daxter. With cameos from series’ all over PlayStation’s history, there will be a total of 169 VIP Bots for you to collect at the game’s launch.
