While it’s true that you can find unique weapons out in the world while playing Once Human, it’s usually best to craft gear yourself. You’ll have greater control over the quality and stats and unlock the ability to repair your weapons. Here is how to craft guns in Once Human!
How to Craft Weapons in Once Human
To craft weapons in Once Human, you must unlock the Gear Workbench by opening your Memetics, navigating to Crafting, and selecting Gear Workbench on the right-hand side of the tree.
Upon doing so, you will unlock the Gear Workbench, the DE-50 (Desert Eagle), and a Baseball Bat. To place the Gear Workbench, you require:
- 30 Copper Ingot
- 10 Metal Scraps
- 10 Shabby Fabric
- 5 Adhesive
Select Craft Weapon (Hotkey: F) with the Gear Workbench in place. You’ll enter a new menu in which you can view all of your available weapon crafting plans. You may only have one or two currently, but you’ll unlock more through Memetics and by opening chests in the game world.
There’s a catch to crafting weapons in Once Human, however. You cannot simply craft the gun straight away; instead, you require the various parts of the weapon, each of which is a unique crafting material.
Using the DE-50 as an example, if you sift through the screenshots above, you’ll note we require:
- Pistol Frame
- Recoil Action
- Pistol Slide
Each component requires its own resources, such as Copper Ingots, Waste Plastic, and Rusty Parts. Once you have everything you need, after breaking down junk found in the world at the Disassembly Bench, select each component in turn and craft (Hotkey: F). Once you have all three components of the weapon, you may craft the whole piece.

Types of Guns in Once Human
There is a rather large selection of firearms in Once Human, including:
- Pistols
- Shotguns
- Submachine Guns
- Assault Rifles
- Sniper Rifles
- Light Machine Guns
- Crossbows
- Special Weapons
You can find countless weapons throughout the game world, primarily in Weapon Crates, which you’ll discover following a battle with a world boss or in unique locations and points of interest. That said, while somewhat unique, these weapons you find in the world come with limitations. For instance, they’re not yours. You cannot repair them because they’re not assigned to your character. Once they’re broken, the weapon is done for.
It’s almost always better to craft guns in Once Human!
