Where to Get New Lords in Norland
You have a few options to get new lords in Norland. You can hire them from the traveling merchant in your settlement occasionally. That’s the most common route. Often, the trader will appear alongside a companion or two, and if you have enough Holy Rings (usually ten is enough to hire a lord), you can hire the lord for ten days. But if you do not give them a title within that time period, they’ll wander to the next kingdom. As such, it’s best to become buddies with hirelings before assigning them titles to boost loyalty and ensure they accept your proposal.
Alternatively, you can acquire new lords through politics. You can marry into another kingdom’s family, receiving a bride or groom in exchange for political favor with the neighboring settlement. It’s a little more complicated, as your lord must have appropriate social skills, but practical as a long-term strategy.

Can Lords Have Children?
Absolutely! This is the third most common way to obtain new lords in Norland, actually. As a romance progresses and you marry your nobles—for political gain or love—they’ll inevitably have children.
Those children will, of course, grow up to become nobles themselves. It’s a never-ending cycle that keeps your kingdom bustling and growing, expanding its borders and influence to conquer neighbors!
