No Rest For The Wicked: Where to Get New Cooking Recipes

During the game’s prologue, after speaking with the captain, one of the first things you do is help the ship’s cook prepare a meal for the crew. It’s your first introduction to the game’s cooking mechanics and your primary way to heal, but you only have one recipe available when you land. Here is where to get new cooking recipes in No Rest For The Wicked!

If you’re growing tired of mushroom and plant stew, though it does heal you for quite a bit of health, you can unlock new cooking recipes in No Rest For The Wicked by speaking with a merchant. This means talking to Fillmore, the blacksmith from Mariner’s Keep, in the early game.

He also acts as a merchant, selling two cooking recipes for around 30 bronze coins each. It’s not expensive, and both recipes use different ingredients, probably already taking up space in your inventory. They heal for a lot of health, too!

Once you spend your coin on a few cooking recipes at the nearest merchant, please don’t do what I did and immediately rush to the nearest campfire to start cooking. It doesn’t work, as I quickly discovered. Instead, open up your inventory and navigate to the second tab, where you’ll find consumables, like potions and recipes.

Once there, scroll down and select the new recipes, then hit the “Use” prompt below the description. On a controller, it’s “Y.” This command will teach you the recipe, and you can visit a campfire and start cooking your new dishes!
