No Rest For The Wicked: How to Repair Equipment

No Rest For The Wicked borrows a lot of mechanics and overall energy from the Souslike genre. It’s more than just an ARPG; it’s a tough-as-nails hack-and-slash game with more than a handful of tough challenges to overcome. But if you die to one of the game’s many enemies, you’ll find your equipment is no longer up to snuff. Here’s how to repair equipment in No Rest For The Wicked!

How to Repair Weapons and Armor in No Rest For The Wicked

As you progress through Mariner’s Keep, following the game’s short prologue aboard the transport ship, you’ll stumble upon numerous enemies that strike hard and fast. You’ll inevitably die while learning the game’s mechanics, movement, and combat. But that’s okay because you’ll find the Mess Hall not too far into the Keep. It’s locked, but you can score a key nearby. Once you open the door, you’ll discover three enemies hassling Fillmore, the Keep’s blacksmith.

Rescue the older man, and he’ll explain how he sabotaged the gate outside. But he also offers his services as a meager blacksmith, which will prove invaluable. You see, you buy equipment, sell unwanted items, and repair your weapons and armor with Fillmore.

Fillmore doesn’t change you a single coin to repair your equipment in this starting zone. You can return here while exploring the area after falling victim to the game’s challenging enemies over the bridge to repair your items. I went back two or three times, unfortunately, and he never once charged for his services.

Now, that’s not to say he won’t. I’m sure that, in due time, as we progress further into the game, Fillmore and blacksmiths like him will begin requesting coins for repairs. But that’s okay; it’s a worthwhile service!

You appear only to lose item durability following an untimely death. If you die and respawn at one of the wisps, you’ll note your armor and weapons’ durability in the bottom left corner when hovering over an item in your inventory drops from 100 to 0 over time. The lower the durability, the less effective the item. It’s wise to repair your equipment each time you die, if you can afford the cost, to remain in tip-top shape against upcoming foes!
