No Rest For The Wicked: How to Beat Warrick the Torn

If you didn’t know by now, No Rest For The Wicked borrows from the ever-popular Soulslike genre. More specifically, its combat mimics the likes of Elden Ring and Bloodborne. It’s challenging, sometimes fair, but occasionally downright frustrating. It all comes to a head in your first boss fight. Here is how to beat Warrick the Torn in No Rest For The Wicked!

How to Defeat Warrick the Torn in No Rest For The Wicked

Your first true boss fight in No Rest For The Wicked occurs just before you reach safety in Sacrament. Here, before the bridge, you’ll fight Warrick the Torn. He’s a mutated monstrosity with multiple arms and legs, feasting on the fallen and swinging a massive two-handed sword over his head.

Despite his size, Warrick moves surprisingly quickly. He can leap across the arena, jump high into the air, and power-bomb you from above. It’s a devastating series of attacks.

First and foremost, I recommend lightening your load. For my first attempt against Warrick, I was slowly waddling around with a heavy weight load. It’s tough to roll and sprint around a boss arena in such a state. I ditched most of my armor in favor of the lightweight starting equipment. You must be able to roll and dodge his attacks!

I also spoke with Fillmore at the Cerim Whisper down the hill to purchase a handful of Scrap Bombs. They’re worth every penny, with each one dealing approximately 30-35 damage per hit. You can lob them from afar, dealing severe damage to Warrick.

As you move through his phases, Warrick the Torn becomes increasingly more frantic. He starts launching swinging strikes, leaping into the air, slamming downward, and thrusting his sword toward you if you get too close.

The key is to watch his movements, not get overly greedy, dodge around behind him, and strike fast and hard!

No Rest For The Wicked Boss Fight Tips and Tricks

  • Don’t be afraid to die on your first attempt, as it’s a valuable learning experience. You can watch the boss, learn their move set, and then return with repaired equipment to tackle them with greater knowledge and confidence!
  • Spend time farming resources and cooking at the nearest campfire if you know a boss fight is around the corner. You want fast-acting and potent healing consumables to quickly down mid-fight.
  • Sometimes, it’s better to ditch the heavy armor in favor of a quicker dodge roll. The ability to move around the arena and strike from behind outweighs the resistance buffs.
