As a survival game, you’ll spend plenty of time collecting resources and bringing those items back to your base to stuff into a chest or workbench. It’s the latter we’re most concerned with currently. You need to build a Workbench in Lost Rift to construct most of the game’s tools, weapons, armor, and crafting resources. Here’s how!
How to Build a Workbench in Lost Rift
What survival base is complete without a trusty workbench for higher-tier crafting? In Lost Rift, a workbench is an early-game crafting bench that allows you to produce better equipment, like your first Bow, along with additional crafting resources, such as String.
To build a Workbench in Lost Rift, select your Primitive Hammer from your quickbar, then open the build menu with either ‘B’ or by right-clicking your mouse. If you use the latter, then hit ‘B’ to expand the build menu and open the additional crafting options.
In the build menu, navigate to ‘Utilities‘ and then down to ‘Crafting.’ You’ll spot the Workbench in this row, typically the first item available.
A Workbench requires:
- x10 Wood
- x3 Tree Sap
- x20 Fiber
You can pick up Food around the beach. They’re the sticks with leaves. Alternatively, you can collect some of the bushes deeper in the jungle, such as in the area before reaching the blinking radio tower on the hill.
As for Wood and Tree Sap, they both come from chopping down trees. Use your Primitixe Axe to whack a nearby tree until it collapses, then hit the fallen trunk a few more times to collect all of your loot. The Wood and Tree Sap both spawn by the stump.
What Can You Craft With a Workbench in Lost Rift?
To start, you can craft a handful of items, some of which will be available within your ‘Quick Crafting’ menu in your inventory. As you uncover additional blueprints around the island and deeper within the game, the available crafting options expand. To start, you can build:
- Primitive Axe
- Primitive Hammer
- String
- Stick Bundle (x10)
- Primitive Torch
- Primitive Pickaxe
- Treated Wood
- Crude Bow
- Primitive Arrows x25
