For a multiplayer horror game, one I would consider to be the best of the year, the total cost of The Outlast Trials isn’t too extreme. It’s priced appropriately, even without a sale, and you’ll easily receive your money’s worth many times over!

Alternatively, there is The Outlast Trials—Reagent Starter Pack Edition for $49.99, which includes the base game and the Raegent Starter Pack. It’s the game’s first cosmetic DLC, which includes a handful of premium outfits, cell items, posters, and player icons to enhance your experience visually. I recommend the Starter Pack if you enjoy cell customization!

Is The Outlast Trials Worth the Cost?
My experience with The Outlast Trials has been nothing but positive. I’ve never encountered a bad lobby of pub players. Those I have met usually interact via mic, and they usually work together to complete the objective. Plus, there’s the single-player mode. You can complete the entire game solo if you don’t want to play cooperatively.
As far as the scares go, The Outlast Trials is positively filled with terror. There are the usual jump scares, as is common with the genre, but there is also a creeping sense of dread thanks to exceptional sound design and world-building.
I’m not usually one for horror on PC, but this is arguably one of the best video games I’ve purchased in the past year!
