I’m of the opinion that a horror game is less terrifying when you introduce multiplayer, but then along came The Outlast Trials. It’s a horrifying and downright scary experience, even with another player or three alongside you for the trip. So, how many players is The Outlast Trials?
How Many Players in The Outlast Trials?
The Outlast Trials supports up to four players cooperatively working together to complete each trial. Of course, you do not require a whole team to play the game. If you only have yourself and a single partner, then that’s more than enough. Even one other person will make the trial both more complex and more accessible to complete simultaneously.
The way The Outlast Trials works is if you’re playing in a group, then they increase the difficulty of the trial somewhat. The enemies become more aggressive, and you may need to restart two generators instead of one, for instance. But at the same time, you have a partner to fall back on who can revive you and help you distract enemies.
Sometimes, it’s better to go alone, though!

Can You Solo The Outlast Trials?
You can play The Outlast Trials as a single player, choosing to solo the horror experience completely. Instead of grouping up with anyone when picking a trial, start the game instead. You won’t automatically matchmake unless you choose to do so!
That said, as someone who played a ton of the game solo, it’s a bit tougher. The objectives scale back somewhat to accommodate you, but you don’t have anyone to help you accomplish your goals. It’s easy to become overwhelmed and, occasionally, lost.
How Many Players Does The Outlast Trials Have?
While player counts vary significantly day-to-day, with massive fluctuations occurring come the weekend, and as a game begins to age, we can take a look at recent data for some insight.
Currently, The Outlast Trials enjoys approximately 3,300 players in-game on a weekday, with the 24-hour peak at just over 4,200 players. Again, that number will surely increase as the weekend approaches, with everyone getting time off from work or school.
Furthermore, the all-time high for The Outlast Trials is 36,689, which the cooperative horror game managed to hit 10 months ago as of this writing.
