I love a lengthy open-world game. I know I may wind up in the minority these days, as “open-world” is synonymous with wasting a player’s time and stuffing in microtransactions, but I can’t help but become immersed. But I still like knowing how long a game is from start to finish. So, how many hours is Horizon Forbidden West?
How Long to Beat Horizon Forbidden West?
On average, it takes just over 28 hours to beat Forbidden West while solely focusing on the campaign and little else. If you want to tackle side quests, which I highly recommend, you’re looking at about 60 hours. For completionists, it’s possible to hit almost 100 hours of gameplay.
Then, of course, there is the expansion, Burning Shores, to consider. On average, players take approximately 7 hours to finish the DLC or 12 hours with side content, so you’re getting your money’s worth!

Is Horizon Forbidden West Worth Your Time?
Following the fantastic PC port of Horizon Forbidden West by the ever-wonderful Nixxes, I cannot recommend this game enough. I didn’t get a chance to play the open-world adventure on PlayStation 5, as I didn’t have one then, but now that it’s on Steam, I can’t stop myself from playing.
Honestly, I found it difficult to delve into Horizon Zero Dawn, but something about Forbidden West immediately captured my attention. The story, characters, movement, and combat all feel improved tenfold!
