Extraction Shooters Go Top Down and Paranormal in No Such Place

As a long-time fan of the extraction shooter genre, with more hours in games like Escape From Tarkov and The Forever Winter than I can count, I’m open to just about any style of game in the genre. But a top-down, paranormal experience wasn’t in my cards. Hey, I’m not complaining, though. No Such Place is a twin-stick-style paranormal extraction shooter with weapon customization, a unique Corruption System, valuable resources, health mechanics, and best of all, it’s available to try now!

No Such Place Playtest Begins Now!

If you’re down to try this unique top-down extraction shooter, you can head over to Steam and sign up for the No Such Place Playtest. It’s on right now, and it’s open to anyone.

To access the test, as mentioned, visit the store page and select ‘Join the Playtest’ beneath the media window, above the ‘Planned Release Date’ box. Once you hit the green button, you’ll receive a notification inviting you to the playtest, after which you can download and play the game immediately.

It’s a small download, a little over 500 MB total.

What is No Such Place?

Have we mentioned that it’s a top-down extraction shooter yet? No? Well, that’s what it is, and there are paranormal entities, too!

Anyway, jokes aside, No Such Place follows the Unknown Research Consortium (U.R.C.), a shady organization conducting anomaly investigations across ‘Dimensional Fragments.’

The key features of the game include:

  • An array of spooky interdimensional worlds to explore, loot, and extract from
  • Unconventional parts and mechanics combine to create custom weaponry using the Gunsmith System and Corruption System
  • Scavenge the world around you for rare resources, crafting materials, and components to upgrade your base and equipment
  • Slay supernatural entities with extreme prejudice!
