On November 11, 2024, Nintendo released a Super Nintendo World Direct, revealing the new Donkey Kong Country Park inside Super Nintendo World at Universal Studios Japan. The direct showcased Shigeru Miyamoto walking around the new park, showing all it offers.
Donkey Kong Country will open in Universal Studios Japan on December 11, 2024. Similarly to Super Mario Land, it is a completely immersive experience that immerses you in the world of Donkey Kong Country. Here is everything that was revealed in the Nintendo Direct.
Interactive Conga Experience
Inside the park are three sets of giant congas that you can play with two other people. If everyone plays them to the beat of the music, Rambi, the rhino from the games, will appear.
Collect All Of The KONG Letter Pannles
Visitors can find hidden KONG letters like those in the game throughout the park. You can scan them with PowerUp Bands and will be rewarded with a secret when you find all the letters.
Jungle Beat Shakes Restaurant
Jungle Beat Shakes is a small food vendor that sells the DK Crush Sundae, inspired by Donkey Kong throwing barrels. They will also sell the DK Wild Hot Dog, a special hot dog with avocado sauce and a special bun.

Meet Donkey Kong Inside The Park
As visitors walk around Donkey Kong Country, they will have the chance to see Donkey Kong himself walking around, where they can take pictures with him.
Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy Has Exclusive Merch
Funky’s Fly ‘n’ Buy is a gift shop in Donkey Kong Country that sells exclusive DK merchandise, including plushes, clothes, and other memorabilia.
The Golden Temple Mine Cart Ride Jumps Rails
The main attraction in Donkey Kong Country is the Golden Temple Mine Cart Ride. Although not much was shown, Miyamoto revealed that it would be a rollercoaster-type ride. Riders will be seated in mine carts and “Embark on a journey to protect the Golden Banana from Tiki Tong.”
This segment showed a short preview of the ride. The mine cart goes outside, where riders will see Dixie Kong before ascending to the top of the temple. Miyamoto also ends the showcase of the ride by stating, ” I hope you’ll get to experience jumping between rails…” hinting that this will be a thriller rollercoaster.
Although not everything from Donkey Kong Country Park in Universal Studios Japan was revealed, The Guide Hall is excited to see the continued expansion of Super Nintendo World.
