While The Marrows provides a sense of safety and security, elsewhere in the game’s world won’t offer the same. You’ll want a friendly face, which, in this mysterious world, is the Travelling Merchant in Dredge. Here’s where to find her!
Where to Find the Travelling Merchant in Dredge
Outside of The Marrows, you can find the Travelling Merchant at each one of the archipelagos in Dredge. You’ll spot her pontoon from a distance, with its glowing yellow-white lights shining through the darkness, indicating safety.
You’ll stumble upon her at:
- Dusty Pontoon – Gale Cliffs
- Starlight Pontoon – Stellar Basin
- Rickety Pontoon – Twisted Strand
- Charred Pontoon – Devil’s Spine
- Bleak Pontoon – The Pale Reach
She’s typically set up right at the entrance of each zone, allowing you to rest and recuperate, sell your haul, and purchase upgrades to push deeper into each region.

What the Travelling Merchant Sells
Along with the ability to repair and upgrade your ship, the Travelling Merchant will buy your fish and sell you items. She sells:
- Rods
- Engines
- Nets
- Pots
- Lights
- Resources

Quests for the Travelling Merchant
The Travelling Merchant offers a single Pursuit: Recording Rarities. In it, she tasks you with tracking down four rare fish that she’s heard about over the years, and you’re the one who will catch them and prove their existence. She wants:
- Oarfish
- Gulper Eel
- Goliath Tigerfish
- Coelacanth
Unfortunately, they’re all relatively challenging to track and catch, so prepare for the long haul!
