For one of the earliest quests in the all-new DLC, The Iron Rig, The Scientist tasks you with tracking down four wildlife samples within the affected areas across the archipelago. He wants a Paddlefish, Tullimonstrum, Osteostracan, and Sea Cucumber. Oddly enough, it’s the final one that proves most challenging. Here is where to find a Sea Cucumber in Dredge!
Where to Get a Sea Cucumber
The Pursuit in question, Strange Specimens, occurs after bringing the oil rig online and dropping its drill into the ocean. Upon doing so, the crust splits, and a jagged red scar appears at the bottom of the sea. Shortly thereafter, a thick sludge oozes up and coats the surface in numerous spots. It’s here that’ll you find Sea Cucumber in Dredge. But your typical Fishing Rod won’t suffice. You must drop a sizeable Crab Pot within the sludge.
To catch a Sea Cucumber, I dropped three: an Efficient Crab Pot, a Hardy Crab Pot, and a Large Crab Pot. While I suspect the Large Crap Pot is capable of catching a Sea Cucumber, it didn’t while I had one in the water. The other two, however, did. They both caught multiple, for a total of three, to bring back to The Scientist.
Once you have at least one, return to the oil rig up north and speak with The Scientist to complete Strange Specimens and continue with the storyline in The Iron Rig!
