Occasionally, even when playing on a PC, I want to chill in my computer chair, slouch down too far, and play games on a controller. I don’t want to sit upright, hunched over the mouse and keyboard for long sessions. However, the tactical shooter genre remains relatively niche and, as such, unlikely to have controller support. So, how about it, does Gray Zone Warfare have controller support?
Can You Use a Controller in Gray Zone Warfare?
Unfortunately, you cannot use a controller in Gray Zone Warfare. At least not yet. Developer Madfinger Games has not yet revealed whether they intend to release controller support for the tactical shooter. However, it’s a time-consuming and lengthy process. With so many unique keybinds to consider, GWZ will likely remain on mouse and keyboard for the foreseeable future.
Sadly, this also means it’s unlikely to receive full support for Steam Deck anytime soon. Again, it may happen in the future; there’s simply no telling yet.

Is Gray Zone Warfare Coming to Consoles?
Gray Zone Warfare may eventually be released on consoles. The studio has yet to reveal any plans regarding a console release for the game, though it’s not outside of the realm of possibilities. I find it highly unlikely, though.
If you need something now, there are plenty of other pseudo-tactical shooters to play on consoles, such as Ghost Recon Breakpoint/Wildlands, Rainbow Six: Siege, and The Division 2. While certainly not ideal and nowhere near as tactical or realistic as something like GZW, they’ll suffice in the meantime.
The Guide Hall wouldn’t mind enjoying Gray Zone Warfare with full controller support, but it’s unlikely to happen for quite some time. We’ll keep pressing onward, with new guides coming soon!
